Who we are

Founded 2014 Β· Toronto

Founded in 2014 by like-minded Eritrean Canadians with a shared passion for road cycling β€” a decade later, still riding as one.

What began as recreational rides gradually expanded into weekly group rides across Toronto and surrounding areas, plus participation in cycling events that support charitable causes. Over the past decade, the club has grown steadily, fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie among its members.

In January 2025, EriCan CC officially registered as a non-profit organization β€” a milestone marking our commitment to fostering a thriving cycling culture among young Canadian adults of African descent and newcomers: cycling as transportation, as a pathway to better health, and as a tool for fitness and well-being.

Our mission: build an inclusive and welcoming cycling community, break barriers, and create opportunities for aspiring cyclists to achieve their dreams.

"Before co-founding EriCan CC, I raced for the Eritrean National Team. My goal now is to give back β€” making cycling accessible and fostering a new generation of riders. Whether you're experienced or just starting, you'll find a welcoming space here."
